I took a day off work to see the world in a better way

Bitter Club by Pipas is one of my favourite songs. It reminds me of 2007 when everything seemed exciting and new in indiepop. I was discovering lots of great bands and people and I felt a whole new world was opening up. It was just like 1986 again. It is hard to retain the excitement after a while, but five years later I am still writing about a song that means a lot to me, so I think I will be entwined with indiepop for a few more years yet. Over the Summer I was at both Berlin Popfests with The Proctors and had a fantastic time. I met some wonderful and interesting people and really enjoyed the music. I had never been much of a fan of Cats On Fire before but thought they were absolutely brilliant when they played the last night of Indie Pop Days Berlin. Thank you to the organisers of both events. Going Up The Country in Congleton, Cheshire was another highlight this Summer. One of the things I have always loved about indiepop is that people get involved and make things happen. Bands will often play for free, promoters lose money on nights, small labels lose money on releases but just carry on anyway because it means so much. Well done to you all and let's just keep going.
Thank you to Pipas for writing such an inspirational song.
